The Consortium for Street Children, of which Children Unite is a member, is running a brand new Marathon Walk fundraising event this year and, as a supporter of Children Unite, you are very welcome!

The Walk takes place in Windsor on 21 June 2015. You can raise funds for Children Unite and find out about our work in Tanzania as many of the Trustees and all the staff will be there; walking with you or helping out at the event!  In addition, we are hoping that Angel Benedicto, former child domestic worker from Tanzania will be able to attend and tell you, herself, about the situation of child domestic workers in her country.

The Walk is suitable for all levels of fitness, as you can choose from 3 distances: just 6 miles to the full marathon of 26 miles.  You will walk along the beautiful and well kept Thames Path which has some lovely places to rest and eat - a great day out for the whole family (see photos attached!).

For more information visit the dedicated Marathon Walk website at

A donation to our work will help empower child domestic workers to advocate for their rights.

As part of our SEND your gLOVE campaign in 2014 our supporters lobbied the UK Government to ratify the International Labour Organization's Domestic Workers Convention.  We secured the first meeting of the UK Government with charities and trade unions to discuss ratification of the convention and how it could help protect child domestic workers from abuse and exploitation.
