Providing Consultancy & Partnerships
Through our consultancy and technical advice service, we support those working on child and youth exploitation. We help clients and partners strengthen their engagement with children and young people, particularly those with lived experiences of exploitation. Our collective of researchers, advocates and practitioners works alongside our clients and partners to facilitate advocacy and research projects and to develop programmes or interventions based on the needs expressed by children and young people themselves.
Research
We provide specialist technical advice on participatory research methods and child-centred research ethics, including co-production of research with children and young people. Our collective brings together leading academics with strong links to research institutes and local researchers deeply grounded in the realities of grassroots NGOs. Together, we ensure that evidence grounded in children’s lived realities informs policy, practice and knowledge creation.

Evaluation, Monitoring and Learning
We specialise in evaluating advocacy, impact and systems-level change, often using participatory approaches. Members of our collective bring expertise as external evaluators, and leading developmental evaluation and learning projects that bridge the gap between research and evaluation. We are highly experienced in designing MEL frameworks and toolkits, and in training practitioners to apply participatory methods that strengthen learning, accountability and long-term impact.

Strengthening Child-Centred Advocacy:
We specialise in supporting child-led and child-centred advocacy approaches that drive long-term, systemic change. Members of our collective have extensive experience working with NGOs and with children and young people who have lived experience of exploitation, enabling them to influence policy and practice at both national and international levels. We integrate creative and participatory methods - including filmmaking, art and drama - while ensuring that youth advocates’ safety and protection remain paramount.

Safeguarding for youth advocacy
Our work on participatory advocacy with children and young people who have lived experiences of exploitation and abuse has prompted us to develop a new approach to safeguarding that centres children’s rights, feminist and participatory principles and trauma-informed practice. We are piloting and revising this new approach, utilising the expertise of our collective to contextualise policy and practice and contribute to the ‘de-colonisation’ of safeguarding more broadly.

Providing Technical Assistance
We offer specialist technical advice on issues including sexual violence against children, child domestic work and street-connected children. Members of our collective bring decades of experience and deep understanding of these areas, enabling donors and NGOs to strengthen their programmes and increase their impact for marginalised children and young people.

Facilitate collective Learning
Through co-creating learning, we regularly reflect as a team, develop actions to deepen the impact of our activities, and bring people together to share insights and facilitate change. Our approach acknowledges children and young people’s realities and the power dynamics at play in their lives, ensuring that learning leads to more effective and respectful practice.

To maximise long-term value, we dedicate 15% of every project and consultancy fee to strengthening sector-wide impact and sustainability. This contribution supports essential administration, enables us to share learning and good practice widely, and provides direct support to grassroots organisations through pro bono expertise and small grants for frontline work with exploited children and young people.
Our model ensures that support for individual projects also builds the sustainability, learning and collaboration needed for sector-wide transformation.
Supporting Grassroots Advocates
Over the past eight years, we have provided pro bono support to WoteSawa and HakiSawa, two grassroots organisations in Tanzania advocating for child domestic workers. This support has included mentoring survivor-leaders, helping to secure funding, and providing technical advice. We have deep respect for the resilience and leadership they demonstrate, and in turn their partnership has strengthened our understanding of the realities of frontline work.
